Young Driver Training- Under 17's off road

You can’t get a driving licence in the UK until you’re 17 but now, thanks to Morgans A Class, if you’re 11 or over, you can learn to drive at our UK based centre.
Morgan’s Driver training programme mirrors what you would learn when driving on the road. The only difference is you will learn to drive in a safe environment on a specially constructed road course.
Whether you have a 30 or 60 minute lesson, you’ll spend the whole time in the car. Your first lesson will deal with starting and stopping the car, moving away, changing gears and steering. In further lessons you’ll progress to other activities such as:
  • Turning
  • Dealing with roundabouts (at selected venues)
  • Dealing with traffic lights (at selected venues)
  • Bay parking and reverse parking
Our instructors will adapt the lessons accordingly to suit the youngster’s ability and age. All our pupils receive a Drive Diary to show their progress.
Our normal lessons start from just £29.95 for 30 minutes driving. Gift vouchers also available. In addition to driving, we can offer supplementary activities for larger groups such as quizzes and theory practice.

Research shows that it is a lack of driving experience – not a lack of years – that causes 1 in 5 newly qualified drivers to crash within 6 months of passing their test. Something had to be done to reduce this frightening statistic – and so we started Morgan’s Young Driver Academy!
Then we will put every learner behind the wheel of a dual controlled car for their safety. Then one of our fully qualified ADI driving instructors teach you how to start, drive, brake, corner, change gear, stop and even reverse – all on your first lesson! Research shows that early driving experience cuts road accidents by 40%. With 1 in 5 young people crashing within 6 months of passing their tests, anything that reduces accidents among this group must be a good thing.
We use only dual control cars and specially selected driving instructors. All of our instructors have been CRB checked (criminal records bureau) and data stored on a secure database.
We have specially designed every training area with professional driving instructors and qualified training and education experts.

Our Trainers

We follow the Driving Standards Agency curriculum, which means that what 11 – 17s learn at our Driver Academy is exactly the same as they will learn on the road at 17. We will break things down to make the learning experience more appropriate for different age groups, but young people will not be taught anything that is not centred on driving safely and properly. All young people are given a form to record their progress and this is one of the most important parts of the programme – moving forward is the aim! Their personalised Drive Diary charts individual progress and current level of driving and is completed by the instructor after each driving session.
Our training puts all of our pupils leaps and bounds ahead of the normal 17 year old.
People sometimes say ‘why are our lessons more expensive than a driving lesson on the road?’ because we have an off road facility with cones and real life driving. We also provide hospitality areas and hosts and have more complex insurance arrangements than when driving on the road. We also supply Drive Diaries and have had to fund rigorous recruitment and training programmes to ensure that our service is delivered to the highest standards and comply with our Child Protection Policy. We are always trying to find ways to keep our costs as low as we can whilst always providing a professional service. There are very few times in life where safety is fun and exciting but under 17’s Driver program is one of them! We know that you want them to be safe on the road in later years and that they want to have fun and be the envy of their friends by driving a real car.
